That is the correct answer.

The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) acknowledge the dates of acceptable service by a Patriot to extend from the Battle of Lexington, 19 April 1775 through the signing of the Treaty of Paris on 26 November 1783. There are a number of incidents, though, that took place prior to the Battle of Lexington which historians have generally accepted as falling within the category of 'the first events of the American Revolutionary War', one of which was the Battle of Point Pleasant on 10 October 1774. See the webpages: 'motherbedford.com/A Chronology Of The American Revolutionary War' for additional information on this subject._
