Gary Young is a Friend of Mother Bedford. Gary's ancestors, William and James Young were early settlers of Bedford County, Pennsylvania. They came from Scotland and settled in the region that would become Cumberland and Londonderry Townships in the southwest corner of Bedford County. Cornelius Devore settled in the same region and his sister, Mary married James Young. James and Mary resided in Bedford County until after the 1790 Census. The Youngs made their livings as craftsmen working in wood working trades.
