Pewter Candlesticks

Candlesticks are the articles that held candles. Many people confuse the two, calling wax candles: candlesticks.
This particular pair of candlesticks was made of pewter, a tin-alloy that was cheaper than silver, but which, when new, could be polished to a nice shine similar to silver. This pair of candlesticks date to circa the 1820s. Candlesticks from that time period are sometimes called "Georgian" candlesticks. Each of these candlesticks measure eleven (11) inches in height.
