| This is another example of a blacksnake whip. This example of the whip is, like the previous examples, incomplete. It measures three feet, three inches in length, but would have originally extended to six to eight feet by the addition of a single strand of a leather strip. With use, the piece of single strand leather strip would tear off. Note the carved initials on the wooden handle: "D" and "B". |
