| This is another example of a hatchel. It, like #11, was embellished with a wavy line of holes in the metal wrapped around the board and into which the nails were pounded. This hatchel has an additional embellishment. Framing both holes in the board are circular metal plates. The plates were probably added to provide support to the holes; but they could have been added simply for design purposes. |
