The author's name appears nowhere in this volume. He is simply noted, on the title page, as "the author of The Whole Duty Of Man". The author of that volume was Samuel von Pufendorf (08 January 1632-13 October 1694), a Lutheran theologian, born in the electorate of Saxony, educated at the University of Leipzig, and who was appointed professor of natural law at the University of Heidelberg in 1660. |
