| This is a very small book, being only 2-3/4 by 4-1/2 inches in size and only an inch thick. The English translation of the title is Cicero's Rhetoric. The name of the author, "M. Tullii Ciceronis" is given, in English translations, as Marcus Tullius Cicero. He lived from 106 to 43 BC. The "Ad Herrenium" was a treatise on oratory; it was written between 86 and 82 BC. This volume, like the other one I own, Volume 4, is printed entirely in italics at about 8pt. The covers are missing from this volume. The publisher's notation is given as: Apud Seb. Gryphium Lugduni, which translates as: (Published by) Sebastien Gryphius (at) Lyons. |
