Margaret Muirhead was born in the year 1718 at Penicuik, Edinburgh, in Lanarkshire.(3.24) She married John Veitch on 03 November 1738 at Penicuik. John was born on 21 April 1717 at Penicuik also. He was a son of Thomas Veitch and Jean Sivrige. The couple gave birth to: William, born 24 September 1739; and Janet, born 07 August 1742.
