As noted in regard to the Regimental Standard of the Agenois Regoment, the French troops assisting the American Patriots carried their own regimental standards. The flag pictured here was carried by the French Champagne Regiment.
The Champagne Regiment is bellieved to have been stationed at Martinique in 1779, and that a detachment participated in the Siege of Savannah on 09 October. The regiment is also claimed to have participated in the sea battle off Martinique from 09 April to 12 April 1782.
