Please Note: Of the various townships which were in existence within Cumberland County during 1762, the only one for which an image is extant for this section is that of Aire Township. The image that is reproduced here was obtained from the Cumberland County Historical Society in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Despite having been formed in the year 1754, the earliest tax assessment return in existence for Aire Township is for the year 1762. It should be noted that the published Pennsylvania Archives does not include any transcriptions of Cumberland County townships for any year earlier than 1778, therefore the townships that were formed within Cumberland County, and later erected into Bedford County, are not included.
